Trendland

Lately, I've been missing the busy streets and beautiful buildings that make up New York City. While this paper version won't exactly solve my craving to be in the city that never sleeps, it's still pretty cute. The 1/100 scale model is by Japanese paper artist Terada Mokei, who also has baby versions of Tokyo, trains, and a zoo, among others.

Darcel Illustrations for Colette's 15th Birthday

The French boutique Colette is celebrating its 15th birthday, and in honor of the occasion, artist Craig Redman is creating 150 illustrated portraits to be displayed and sold at Colette. Redman, creator of the one-eyed illustrated alter-ego Darcel (check out Darcel Disappoints here), features fashion folk, musicians, and artists, all in Darcel style. The Water Tank Project

The Water Tank Project

The Water Tank Project is a project using public art to get New Yorkers to think twice about the water we waste. The organization Word Above the Street is behind the initiative, where NYC's iconic rooftop water tanks will be covered in artwork.  The project is not expected to go into motion until spring of next year, but donations are being accepted now. Luminarie De Cagna's LED Cathedral

Made of 55,000 LED lights, this amazingly bright cathedral is on display at the Light Festival Ghent, in Belgium. Created by the Italian family business Luminarie De Cagna, this work of art doesn't use as much energy as you may think, only consuming 20Kwatt/h.

"Cross Roads" by Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer

I love this digital print, originally taken on a Polaroid camera, of a road in New Mexico. The artist, Jeremy Kenyon, Lockyer, had a brush with death when he fell severely ill from a respiratory disease, but emerged a strong creative force.

The Obliteration Room

Interior inspiration for your home? Maybe not, but I would have loved to have the privilege of sticking colorful dot stickers on everything when I was younger. Titled "The Obliteration Room," this installation at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art allowed visitors to transform a completely white space with thousands of stickers.
