I Think I Love You

These boots from Aldo are really speaking to my summer-bohemian-southern-whatever side right now.  These are not too cowboy, but just country enough to refresh me from my typical city-inspired uniform, and they come in seven different colors so I can be as casual (cognac, black) or crazy (light pink anyone?) as I wish.

Josh Goot S/S '12

To begin, um, do you see that gold peplum?! Touches like that infuse a modernity to Josh Goot's clothes, not to mention the Australian's signature color blocking. Despite it being a trend that has already trickled down to High Street, the asymmetrical hems here feel fresh and simple. The oversized floral prints are worthy of the high fashion elite - I could easily see Prada or Prabal using a similar look. Contrasting the punchy prints are simple boyish details like collars and tuxedo-style bibs.

Mash-Up: Southern Bohemian

With the temperatures beginning to rise, it's only natural to want to dress a little more casually, and for me that always means bringing out my inner hippie a little bit more. This usually means fringe booties, ethnic-inspired jewelry, and folksy blouses. While some of that formula still holds true, this spring/summer I'm really liking the idea of some southern touches - denim jackets, floppy hats, rugged boots.  This flavor has also been injected into my playlist - I can't get enough of the Civil Wars, Sharon Van Etten, and Sugar & The Hi Lows.
