NY Fashion Week Highlight: Proenza Schouler
Okay, first, I must profess my love for Proenza Schouler: I love Proenza Schouler. Okay, since that's out of the way, on to the Fall 2012 collection...
The inspiration this season was Asia, which is most obviously seen in the looks near the end of the show, especially the oriental printed frocks. The boxy, oversized tops also had a Samurai appeal to them. Leather was a staple to this collection, and it was most impressive when woven together on skirts, dresses, and jackets. I predict those woven pieces, as well as the quilted satin jacket embellished with blue birds, will be editorial darlings come autumn.
